Older Americans Month, led each May by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), honors older adults, highlights aging trends , and reinforces support for their well-being.
The 2026 theme, Champion Your Health, emphasizes prevention , wellness , and personal responsibility—encouraging individuals to actively manage their health, use preventive care, and make informed choices for independence. The initiative also promotes evidence-based practices and community partnerships , with resources available to help organizations and communities participate and share using #OlderAmericansMonth.
Since 1972, the Senior Nutrition Program—funded by the Older Americans Act—has provided meals and essential services to adults 60+, supporting independence , social connection , and overall well-being . Celebrated each March , the program highlights its impact at both national and local levels.
The 2026 theme, Serving Up Solutions, emphasizes innovation and adaptability in meeting community needs—offering nutritious meals while helping older adults stay healthy , engaged , and independent.
